Stars- Elevator Love Letter

Recently I’ve been re-listening to an older (2003) album from Stars entitled Heart. This band really only got popular (aka got radio airtime, featured on The OC, nominated for awards, etc.) with their 2004 release Set Yourself on Fire, an album which absolutely blew my mind at the time. But I gotta say, this earlier album is pretty frickin sweet too, and it’s got some great tracks, such as the one above. I’ll probably be sharing more of my faves from it later.

Also, Amy Millan, the lead singer here, was my first big indie crush. How could anyone resist that voice? Good grief! She’s got a solo gig going now, and she’s also one of the gajillion members of the famed Broken Social Scene. I’ve realized now that she’s a bit old for me, so I’ve moved on. But she’ll always have a special little place in my heart.
